Prospective Members

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has a rich history of uniting women together to positively impact the lives of others. Our organization emphasizes lifelong active membership, and as such, we have an expectation that our members will stay engaged at all levels of the Sorority, including, but not limited to Rho Delta Omega’s efforts to be of “Service to all Mankind.”

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will extend the privilege of membership to women who will promote, uphold, and extend its policies and programs. In return, the Sorority is a conduit through which individuals can grow and develop, both personally and professionally.

 

Membership Requirements

Women seeking graduate membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority shall:

  • Have high ethical and moral standards;
  • Have demonstrated involvement in community activities;
  • Have motivation and ability to promote and extend the ideals of Alpha Kappa Alpha;
  • Demonstrate adherence to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Anti-Hazing Policy and other policies governing membership; and
  • Complete the Sorority’s official Membership Intake Process (MIP).

The Sorority’s official graduate Membership Intake Process (MIP) is by invitation only and may not be solicited. The MIP begins with an Official Letter of Invitation, on chapter stationery, signed by the Chapter President AND Membership Chair. Rho Delta Omega Chapter hosts public events, such as forums, fundraisers, cultural presentations and social activities, which you may wish to attend in order to become better acquainted with Sorority members and the community service activities in the area.
